Surgical Smoke (plume) Evacuation System
Surgical plume is created by the vaporising of human tissue by surgical electro-cautery. This noxious and odorous by-product contains both organic and inorganic matter. Plume can also obscure visualisation of the tissue which could be a potential patient safety hazard. The plume falls into two categories; chemical and bacteriological, both of which have their own health risks.
The Prima Medical Clean Air 2 Surgical smoke evacuation system is designed to remove surgical plume particles and odour from the operating theatre, using an advanced filter system ULPA (Ultra low penetration air filter) that captures 99.999% of both categories of surgical plume.
