Pelnac™ dermal matrix, clinical review 2016

Pelnac™ is a bi-layered dermal template used to cover all areas of partial thickness to deep dermal wounds, such as burns, trauma, scar revision, melanoma excision, and many more.  Pelnac is made of atelocollagen derived porcine collagen that is freeze-dried and an outer layer of either Fortified or Fenestrated silicone dressing.  At the recent UK Midlands Regional Burns meeting, held at the lovely Edgbaston cricket ground in Birmingham, April 2016, Mr Ciaran O'Boyle Consultant Plastic and reconstructive surgeon based at Nottingham City Hospital and the Queens Medical Centre in Nottingham, presented his experience of using Pelnac in a variety of wounds in his first 15 patients.  His experience gathered from over two years of use, in a wide range of wounds was very impressive, with 100% revascularation of the Pelnac, 100% graft take rate and 0% infections reported.  We are looking forward to Mr O'Bolyes publication of his experiences in the near future.
