The INSORB® Absorbable Skin Stapler represents a revolutionary new skin closure modality designed to combine the cosmetic result of absorbable suture with the rapid closure times associated with metal skin staplers, while eliminating the need for metal staple removal post-operatively. The INSORB® Absorbable Staple is comprised of a co-polymer of polylactic acid and polyglycolic acid,(PLA/PGA) which is absorbed over a period of 4-6 weeks, with a half life of approx 21 days.
The Proprietary INSORB Skin Stapling Technology…
Insorb replicates the familiar technique and method surgeons use to close incisions with metal skin staples.
Enables clinicians to time-effectively place an interrupted “stitch”… an absorbable staple that eliminates the need for removal post-operatively. Provides a uniform, symmetrical, everted closure. Eliminates the percutaneous insult to the epidermis resulting from the use of metal skin staples.
Virtually eliminates the potential of needlesticks.
Insorb is a sterile, single patient use device that deploys 30 absorbable staples, sufficient to close up to a 30-35cm incision.
The INSORB Subcuticular Skin Closure Technique Using 1 Adson Forceps
The patented INSORB Skin Stapler places proprietary subcuticular absorbable staples to close surgical incisions in 2 Easy Steps
How to use Insorb 30
|1. INSORB|30 Stapler arms compress tissue into capture zone as lever is squeezed.|
|2. As lever is squeezed, two needles move forward horizontally to capture a precise ‘bite’ of dermis on both sides of incision and places an INSORB Staple.|
|3. When the lever is released, the needles retract into the mechanism and the cleats on the INSORB Staple secure the tissue.|
