Neoveil – Mucosal Substitute
Indications Neoveil is an ideal synthetic material made from 100% PGA (polyglycolic acid) and a very smll amount of solvent green (for colour). PGA is a well known synthetic material used in many medical products and sutures and meshes. Neoveil is a stretchy and fully resorbable material and fully replaced by the patients host tissues in areas such as mucosa. Neoveil is ideal as a replacement tissue in cases such as; Tongue surgery Oral cancer surgery Oral dysplasia Lower jaw excision Neoveil is strong for approx 2 weeks as host tissues grows into the Neoveil and take over the strength of the material. By 4 weeks, the Neoveil structure is replaced by host tissues. This allows faster healing time, ability of patient to return to normal activities, such as eating and drinking after surgery and speeds recovery. Neoveil can be sutures into place and adheres to host tissues without the need for surgical adhesives.
