Bipolar forceps with smoke evacuation
The world’s first bipolar forceps with smoke evacuation are now available. Designed with the surgeon in mind, these ergonomic bipolar forceps are available with smoke evacuation.
Actiseal was designed by leading electrosurgery company Prima Medical, based in Gloucestershire. Actiseal features a 4 meter electrode lead that connects to leading makes of diathermy generators, Valleylab and Conmed – which will allow “hand activation” – press the finger and thumb “bottons” on the forceps together – this will allow activation, without the need of a foot pedal. Hand activation gives the surgeon the ultimate control of this device.
The hand activation can be over-written and the foot pedal can still operate as normal – if required.
A 3 meter smoke evacuation tubing is attached via a 360° swivel connector to the forceps, allowing for minimum weight and drag effect for the operator. The 3 meter smoke evacuation tubing has a standard 22mm port for connection to all leading makes of smoke extraction devices.
Actiseal is available in the following styles;
