If the pelvic floor muscles are not exercised enough they may weaken progressively over years and the earliest symptoms are most likely to be urine incontinence, backache and possibly genital prolapse.

Pelvic floor muscles can be reinforced or toned up through certain exercise which are named after Dr Kegel who developed the technique to improve the pelvic floor by following a specific group of activities and routines which, if practiced regulary results will be noticed in just 2-3 weeks.

Kegel execise can be carried out standing, sitting, walking, driving or even lying down.   It is simply tightening or squeezing  the pelvic floor muscles together as if to prevent passing water or wind.

There are a number of products on the market which can further assist and improve muscular elasticity and strength without the need of medication.
